UPDATE #5 – THE PROFILE EDITION

A major phase of the Bishop Search Committee has been accomplished with the publication of the Diocesan Profile found HERE.

The Profile is the result of the input of committees and ministry groups of the diocese; face to face consultations; and a comprehensive survey questionnaire which was available to every member of the diocese.

The Bishop Search Committee carefully reflected on the input and insights shared with us and have captured your major hopes. 

The Diocese is looking for:

• a strategic visionary leader who will inspire and encourage us to embrace new opportunities with courage and hope;
• a person who will be a bridge builder – building trusting relationships between and among all members of the diocese;
• a bishop who will be an excellent communicator, collaboratively engaging in respectful and challenging conversations.

There are eight needs identified which will assist Synod Members in evaluating candidates who consent to being considered. (page 17)

The Search Committee will be receiving names of persons willing to be nominated between now and April 25.  Those nominated will submit background information including reference checks and a video.  This information will be made available to Synod Members and on the Diocesan Website early to mid May.

There is a nomination form on the Diocesan Website and Members of Synod, Members of the House of Bishops from the Ecclesiastical Province of the Northern Lights, and members of the Search Committee are eligible to nominate.

There will also be an opportunity for nominations on the floor of Synod, but there can be no reference checks in these cases.
