The Right Reverend Naboth Manzongo is the 14th Bishop of the Diocese of Rupert’s Land in the Anglican Church of Canada. Born and raised in Zimbabwe, Manzongo felt a call to ordained ministry at a young age, serving as an altar server and lay reader while in school. He was ordained a priest in 2009 in the Diocese of Harare, Church of the Province of Central Africa. He did his B.A and M.A degrees at the University of Zimbabwe.

His ministry in Zimbabwe included serving as a Curate at the Church of St. Mary Magdalene, Harare, rector of St. Joseph’s, Harare, and rector of St Paul’s Marlborough. He later undertook further theological studies in North America, earning a Master of Theological Studies from Nashotah House Theological Seminary in Wisconsin, where he focused on moral theology and ethics and served as a supply priest in the Episcopal Church. He migrated to Canada in 2018 and served as incumbent at St. Luke’s Anglican Church in Dryden, Ontario, before becoming the rector of Holy Trinity Anglican Church in downtown Winnipeg in September 2024.

His election as Bishop of Rupert’s Landmarks several historic firsts: he is the first Black bishop and the first African-born bishop to serve this diocese. He brings to the role a commitment to bridge-building, diversity and inclusion, faith-raising, and truth and reconciliation, particularly in supporting relationships across cultural, social, and geographic boundaries within the diocese. Naboth is married to Thelma, and they have three children. He continues to be involved in academic and ecclesial formation, including pursuing a Doctor of Ministry in Leadership.
